Psalm 105:1-5

Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
  make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
  tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
  let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
  seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done,
  his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.

Midday Prayer

Loving God,
glorious in giving and restoring life,
do not hide your face from your people overcome with
loneliness and fear.

Turn our weeping into dancing,
our despair into joy,
and raise us up with Christ,
that we may rejoice in your presence forever.
Amen.

Matthew 27:32-37

As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross. They came to a place called Golgotha (which means The Place of the Skull). There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it. When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.

Colossians 2:6-7 NIV

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
